How Would You Create An SEO Strategy For A Website That Targets Two Demographies And Languages?
In the 259th episode of Semantic Mastery’s weekly Hump Day Hangouts, one participant asked how the team would create an SEO strategy for a website that targets two demographies and languages.
The exact question was:
I’d like to hear your experience if you have build a website that is targeted for 2 different target market based on demography and language wise. But if you don’t have this kind of experience, what’s your take on this issue? For example: Target market in A country using English language Target market in B country using B language (foreign language) What’s your take if this website is build : www.brandname.com → A www.brandname.com/bahasa → B [keywords in B language]
This website provide similar services for A and B. I look forward to hearing your feedback and recommendations: 1) is this going to affect how the SEO work should be done for A? 2) And also is it going to impact on how Google will index/rank my website? Note: 1. I heard that using plugin translation is not recommended if we want to make our website rank higher based on the target market/demography wise. 2. I don’t want to use separate domain because I don’t want the B people get confuse
